Explanation (?):

The VMWare NAT Service service provides the ability for the virtual machine emulation program VMWare to interact on a network using NAT based resolution and communication. This service communicates with a virtual machine session and relays information from the session to and from the VMNet8 adapter installed on the host computer through VMWare's Virtual Ethernet Adapter Adapters driver. The NAT service by default communicates with the VMWare DHCP service.

If you have VMWare installed and you are using a NAT connection in your VM sessions then this service is required. If you are not using Bridge connections or not Internet connection then this service can be safely disabled. If you do not have VMWare installed then this service should not exist.

"Man is the only animal that deals in that atrocity of atrocities, War. He is the only one that gathers his brethren about him and goes forth in cold blood and calm pulse to exterminate his kind. He is the only animal that for sordid wages will march out... and help to slaughter strangers of his own species who have done him no harm and with whom he has no quarrel.... And in the intervals between campaigns he washes the blood off his hands and works for 'the universal brotherhood of man' - with his mouth". --Mark Twain
